Radfield at Cheshire Independent Living Awareness Event

On Friday 26th August, our Chester branch proudly took part in the 6th annual Cheshire Independent Living Awareness Day (CILAD), organised by the Cheshire Independent Living Centre.

The centre provides a wide range of support services across the Cheshire region. Their vision is to create an equal and inclusive society for people to live independently and to enable them to have the choice and control over their lives and remove the barriers that exist within society.

The event took place at Moss Farm in Northwich. There was something for everyone to get involved in and enjoy. There was a wide variety of exhibitors, including national societies and local support groups with AgeUk, Deeside Choir, The Sensory Bus, Mobiloo, The Alzheimer's Society to name but a few, plus lots of fun for the children including face painting, children’s rides amongst many other activities.

There was an exhibition stand with a range of unique bicycles that had been designed and made specifically for a child or adult with physical disabilities; a fantastic idea enabling and encouraging greater independence.

Radfield's Jo Gould and her Mother at Cheshires Independent Living Awareness Event

Jo Gould (Radfield carer from the Chester branch) and her lovely mother popped to see us whilst they enjoyed CILAD event.

During the event the branch sold raffle tickets to raise money for the branches’ chosen charity ‘The Hospice of the Good Shepherd’ in Backford, Chester. Anna Denham, Business Development Manager for the Chester branch commented,

"The CILAD event was a fantastic success and we were so proud to be a part of it. Throughout the day we introduced ourselves and our services to a number of health care professionals, who we look forward to working alongside in the future to ensure we provide a stronger and more supportive service to our clients. We have already signed up for the CILAD 2018 and are looking forward to this great event next year!"
