Radfield Home Care Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow has officially opened for business!

Following months of preparations, with the Mayor Thay Thayalan and Mayoress of Kingston in attendance, yesterday we officially cut the ribbon on our brand new branch in Kingston Upon Thames,  from where we will be providing specialist home care services to older people in the communities of Richmond, Kingston, and Hounslow.

With older people wanting to continue living at home independently for as long and as safely as possible, our Owner and Director, Shamsah Lalji set out to launch a new home care service within the local area, to help older people struggling to find good quality care services. Radfield Home Care strives to provide this high-quality care to clients, which all begins with  supporting their workforce - to provide them the highest standard of care possible. We pay our carers throughout their training period and hold a ‘Caring for Carers’ pledge demonstrating their passion and commitment to attracting and retaining good staff.

After months of hard work behind the scenes preparing to launch our new home care business, Shamsah commented,

“I grew up in a household living with an aunt who has physical disabilities and witnessed the importance of carers first hand and the impact they had on my entire family’s quality of life and peace of mind. With this, came my inspiration to make a difference in people’s lives and I became passionate about providing a high-quality home care service.

We strive to make a real difference to our clients, which is why we are selective when it comes to hiring carers who then become part of our family. The new branch is looking to create 100 new jobs over the next few years.”

The Mayor of Kingston, Councillor Thay Thayalan was delighted to see the launch event take place and spent time on the day to speak to carers, clients and everyone who visited us. He also explained,

“It is heart-warming to hear how passionate Radfield Home Care is about making a positive difference to people’s lives. Currently, over 65s account for 14% of Kingston's population and by 2044, estimates suggest this will be closer to 20%. This is a similar picture for other London boroughs.”

He added:

In Kingston, our aim is to support people to live as independently as possible within their community and to give people choice when it comes to their care and support."

Despite only just hosting an official launch day, Shamsah and her team have already been supporting clients within their own home in recent weeks, with Radfield Home Care Richmond, Kingston & Hounslow first client already delighted with the service they are receiving.

"The carer has been incredibly helpful. She always treats me with respect and she gives me a choice of activities to do. She encourages me to be more active. She knows me well by now, and I am always looking forward to the next visit."

Although Shamsah and her team are all from the local area,  Radfield is a family-run franchise business with branches across the country led by GP Dr Hannah MacKechnie and her brother Alex Green, who have been providing high quality care to people with various needs for over 35 years and will be supporting Radfield Home Care Kingston, Richmond & Hounslow in the coming months.
