Mary Andrews-Szikszai

Registered Care Manager

We would like to introduce you to Mary Andrews-Szikszai, registered care manager for Radfield Home Care Chingford & Loughton. Mary is responsible for the day to day running of the office in line with CQC regulations and also for ensuring that the service is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led. Mary is the key point of contact for carers, clients and their families and promotes individual’s wellbeing at all times.

Mary joins us with almost a decade of experience working in care. Her career has spanned most aspects of care, from working with young adults to providing clinical care to clients with complex medical needs. During this time, Mary has had the privilege of spending time in almost all roles that the industry has to offer. This breadth of experience has given her an in-depth understanding of challenges facing both our clients and Care Professionals.

“My experience in care has greatly prepared me for my role by providing key insight into the day to day operations within the care setting. Previous roles such as, field supervisor, care coordinator and care trainer have provided me with a significant amount of useful supervisory and management experience, a keen understanding of care legislation, safeguarding, duty of care, health and safety as well as the role of CQC in regulating care organisation and compliance.

These roles also allowed me to harness and improve key leadership skills such as mentoring, teaching, time management, critical thinking, active listening and problem solving.”

Prior to joining the care sector, Mary worked in marketing, helping various organisations such as financial institutions and furniture manufacturers achieve their goals. Marketing helped her develop important skills in customer relationship management, giving her the ability to carry the Radfield brand messaging as well as build strong rapport with clients and Care Professionals.

“My personal experience with lack of quality care in my home country (Trinidad and Tobago) and the difficulties I faced with inclusion following a debilitating injury, inspired me to be involved in the adult social care sector. I believe everyone has a contribution to make to society and it is important that we are fully supported to do so.”

Mary has worked hard to achieve a high level of excellence in the world of care and in doing so, has accrued lots of sought after industry accolades including:

  • BA Hons. Degree, Marketing Management.
  • NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care
  • Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement
  • Level 3 Certificate in Education and Training
  • Medication Management – Train the Trainer

“I believe my role and experience will allow me to exercise a great deal of empathy and compassion when dealing with the sensitive needs of clients. It also makes me a reliable role model when mentoring Care Professionals as I not only understand the work environment and its requirements but I am able to explain and demonstrate what needs to be done.”
