Gail Smith - Registered Care Manager

Gail Smith - Registered Care Manager

We would like to introduce you to Gail, registered care manager for Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne and South Derbyshire. Gail is responsible for the day to day running of the office in line with CQC regulations and also for ensuring that the service is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well led. Gail is the key point of contact for carers, clients and their families and promotes individual's wellbeing at all times.

Gail joined Radfield in February 2021 bringing with her a wealth of knowledge from her experience working within the health and care sector. Having also been a registered care manager for over 14 years, Gail explains her route to Radfield:

“I have been working in the care industry for over 22 years now, starting my social care journey working with children in a residential school for special needs. I then progressed to adult care, supporting people with learning disabilities, autism and physical disabilities. My last client group was an aging population. They required assistance to continue living life to the full, which I found very rewarding. Since joining Radfield, I have already found the team to be extremely positive and supportive, not only to the clients but to each other”

As well as bringing a range of qualifications to the role, including a Diploma level 5 in leadership & management and an NVQ 4 health & social care and registered managers award, Gail brings with her a real passion to care:

“Over the years I have been able to build positive relationships with clients and their families, mainly because I have good empathy, excellent communication skills and will deal with all queries so they have a satisfactory outcome. Once I started to work with adults I never looked back - I personally find it very rewarding. Supporting our clients to ensure they are living their fullest each and everyday, is so satisfying.”
