Radfield Home Care is proud to be part of the Social Care Commitment which has been celebrating Social Care Commitment week between the 7th and 13th December #SCCWeek.

The Social Care Commitment is the adult social care sector's promise to provide people who need care and support with high quality services. Radfield Home Care have been members for several years and celebrate this call to raise standards in the home care sector.

It is a Department of health initiative that has been developed by the adult social care sector and is managed by Skills for Care. The commitment aims to both increase public confidence in the care sector both domiciliary care and residential care and raise workforce quality in adult social care.

Any employees and employers in adult social care can make the commitment. An employer makes their commitment first, then they are able to encourage their employees to also make the commitment, so the whole workforce is working towards improving quality and raising standards.

Making the commitment involves agreeing to the seven statements which all start with 'I will' and selecting tasks to help put those statements into practice. Tasks cover activities such as recruiting the right staff, having a thorough induction, ensuring a strong culture that values dignity and respect and effective communication.
