Job Title:

Domiciliary Care Worker (Care Assistant) - Car Driver Essential.


St Leonard's, Hastings.

Reporting to:

Care Manager.


£9.30 per hour weekday, £9.75 per hour weekends.
PLUS paid mileage
PLUS paid training


Part-time (16 - 25 Hours).


Driving license and use of own car.
Able to work every other weekend.
Hold a current or willing to undertake a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) Check.

Job Purpose:

To provide domiciliary care to clients.

Bexhill, Hastings & Battle Home Care Assistant Jobs - Part-time & Full-time

Our Home Care Assistants support older people to live safely in their own homes. Some may need just a small amount of help a week, whilst others will receive several visits a day.

Your care duties will be clearly stated in each individual Plan of Care and will vary depending on need. Occasionally, other care duties may arise that are not part of the care plan and you will need to be able to adapt easily to take on these additional duties if asked.

Skills, Knowledge & Qualifications


The main skills and qualities that we look for in our Home Care Assistants are:

The main skills and qualities that we look for in our Home Care Assistants are:

  • Twelve months experience of working in a caring environment.
  • Some experienced carers will participate in the on-call rota and undertake shadowing training with new carers. These additional responsibilities are optional and are remunerated at an enhanced rate of pay.


Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the highest possible levels of care are delivered and maintained at all times.
  • To undertake all duties in accordance with the policies and procedures of Radfield Home Care.
  • Duties will include aspects of personal care to allow our clients to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance.
  • Assisting in the preparation of meals, drink and snacks. Enable people who use our services to remain as independent as possible with this task.
  • To provide assistance with practical activities of daily living which can include cleaning and maintaining environment, shopping, laundry and banking.
  • To assist clients with medication as identified in their care plan.
  • Participate in team meetings, staff events, attend training provided by the company and reviews as required.
  • To work in accordance with the weekly work schedule and maintain client records which includes the completion of MAR Charts.
  • To build meaningful relationships with clients and provide emotional support. Also support people find ways of maintain contact with friends and family and others members of the local community.
  • Demonstrate safe moving and handling of clients and their physical abilities and mobility.
  • Act on own initiative and respect client wishes and requests.



All staff is required to adhere to the Code of Practice for Social Care Workers and respect the confidentiality of all matters that they might learn in the course of their employment. All staff is expected to comply with requirements under the Data Protection Act 1998.

All staff must be familiar with Radfield Home Care Ltd’s health and safety policies and procedures and ensure that they are aware of their responsibilities under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 of which we can provide copies if needed.
