Field Care Supervisor

About Raluca

We would like to introduce you to Raluca, Field Care Supervisor for Radfield Home Care Barnet & Finchley.

What is your background prior to joining Radfield?

Before joining the care sector, I worked in retail as a Store Manager for several years. In that role, I was responsible for leading a team, managing day-to-day store operations, ensuring excellent customer service, and meeting sales targets. I gained strong skills in staff training, rota planning, stock control, and maintaining health and safety standards, while also supporting the development of my team. This background helped me build strong organisational and people skills, which I now apply in my role in the care sector.

How has your background prepared you for your new role at RHC?

Leading a team in a busy environment has taught me how to prioritise tasks, stay organised, and handle challenges calmly, which is essential when working in care. I developed strong people skills through daily interactions with customers and staff, helping me to communicate clearly and build trust with clients and colleagues. Managing rotas, stock, and health and safety has made me confident in following procedures and maintaining standards. Most importantly, working in retail strengthened my commitment to providing excellent customer service, which I now apply to supporting individuals to feel valued and respected in their daily lives.

What has inspired you to want to be involved in the adult social care sector?

I have always enjoyed working with people and making a positive difference in their day. While working in retail, I realised that what I found most rewarding was helping others feel supported and valued, and I wanted to do something more meaningful where I could contribute directly to people’s wellbeing. I was inspired to join adult social care because I want to help individuals live with dignity and independence, and I believe everyone deserves to feel respected and cared for, no matter their age or ability. Seeing the impact that good care can have on someone’s quality of life motivates me, and I feel that working in care aligns with my personal values of kindness, patience, and treating people with respect.

How do you feel your role, and your experience, will benefit Radfield’s clients?

I believe my role and previous experience will benefit Radfield clients by bringing strong organisational and people skills into the care I provide. Having worked in retail management, I am used to working under pressure while staying calm, listening carefully, and ensuring people feel heard and respected. This helps me support clients with patience and understanding, while making sure their care is delivered safely and on time. I am committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care, and I always aim to brighten someone’s day, even in small ways. I also bring reliability and attention to detail, ensuring that clients receive the consistent and compassionate care that Radfield is known for.
