About Amanda

We would like to introduce you to Amanda, Recruitment & Training Manager for Radfield Home Care Derby, Ashbourne & South Derbyshire.

What is your background prior to joining Radfield?

Prior to joining Radfield, I worked as a Front of House Manager at a residential/dementia care home for 1 year. I was responsible for managing reception and administration duties, coordinating visitor flow, supporting residents and families, and ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.

I have 18 years of experience in the care sector, beginning my career as a Home Carer and progressing through various roles to become a Care Home Manager. This journey has given me a deep understanding of high-quality care delivery, team leadership, and compliance within regulated care environments. In my previous management positions, I was actively involved in staff recruitment and also completed “Train the Trainer” programs.

How has your background prepared you for your new role at RHC?

My background has given me a strong foundation for my role at Radfield Home Care. I’ve developed a deep understanding of person-centred care, compliance, and leading care teams effectively.

Working as a Front of House Manager helped strengthen my communication and organisational skills, which are essential in supporting clients, families, and team members. Overall, my experience has prepared me to contribute confidently and positively to the Radfield team, ensuring both clients and carers receive the support they need.

What has inspired you to want to be involved in the adult social care sector?

I’ve always had a strong desire to make a positive difference in people’s lives, and working in adult social care has given me the opportunity to do just that. I have found it incredibly rewarding to support individuals in maintaining their independence, dignity, and quality of life.

What inspires me most is the ability to build meaningful relationships with those we care for and to know that our work has a real impact, not just on the individuals, but on their families and the wider community. Over the years, seeing the difference that good care can make has deepened my passion and commitment to this sector. Being part of a team that values compassion, respect, and person-centred care continues to drive my motivation to grow and contribute within adult social care.

How do you feel your role, and your experience, will benefit Radfield’s clients?

My experience in leadership, recruitment, and staff training means I’m able to support and develop a strong, skilled care team, ensuring our clients receive consistent and person-centred care.

What I’m most passionate about now is using my experience to support and teach others. I believe that by helping team members grow in confidence and skill, we can raise the overall standard of care. When carers feel supported, trained, and valued, it directly benefits clients through more reliable, person-centred, and empathetic care.
