Gratton’s Indoor Bowls Club has a long and chequered history and was open on 24th November 1983. This is a place where group where members can interact with each other and keep up to date on matches and social events. The club accommodates bowling for all levels. They have a large variety of leagues all year round, weekly Ladies-only bowling, summer and winter internal competitions, mixed friendly matches with other clubs, National and County competitions and Roll ups and Drives.
Grattons has an active social club which organises Bingo, Race Nights, Quiz Nights and trips to the London Theatres. The facilities are also utilised by Crawley Bridge Club who play at the club. Grattons has been running now for over 40 years and continues to provide a welcoming place for people to enjoy the sport of bowls.
Learn morePopes Mead is a long established club, having celebrated it’s centenary in 2018. They have a very well maintained green, looked after by its own members, alongside an all-weather green for all the year round bowling. For the new bowlers there are club coaches to help and advise on bowling techniques.
Popes Mead have a busy summer season bowling with fixtures against various clubs in the area of Sussex and Surrey. This provides good social contacts, friendly and competitive matches. They have a splendid club house with its own kitchen and bar. During the winter months they have various social activities, such as short mat bowls, darts evenings, quizzes, bingo, horse and dog racing in various forms.
