Julie Porter

We would like to introduce you to Julie, registered care manager for Radfield Home Care Bedford and Ampthill. Julie is responsible for the day-to-day running of the office in line with CQC regulations and also for ensuring that the service is safe, caring, responsive, effective and well-led. Julie is the key point of contact for carers, clients and their families and promotes individuals’ wellbeing at all times.

A compassionate and experienced individual, Julie describes her dedication to care provision:

“Most of my working life has been spent within the caring profession, commencing with working as a carer for a domiciliary agency. This is where my love and commitment in providing excellent care and support to patients/clients developed. From here I joined the NHS as a Health Care assistant where in 1998 I commenced my Nurse training. I have therefore worked as a Qualified Nurse for the past 20 years mainly working within the local community teams. My most recent position was managing the local hospice community team which offered community services to end-of-life patients such as visits, 24-hour phone support, night sits and family/carer emotional and bereavement support.

I have local community knowledge – I am also aware of what clients and families expect from a care agency and a great understanding of what it takes to motivate staff in order to achieve and reach our goals. I have managed, mentored, aided development and supported junior staff. I have a genuine desire to make a positive impact in achieving an amazing service enabling our team to offer a truly amazing service to our older generation within the Bedford area.

As a manager, I am approachable and supportive. My belief is that if your team feels supported by their manager this leads to a cooperative, reliable, happy team who will share my goals and passion into the development of an excellent service and providing the very best care to our clients.”
