Radfield Home Care Southport Brings Community Together with Burns Night Celebration

At Radfield Home Care Southport, we believe that outstanding care extends far beyond practical support in the home. It is about connection, inclusion, and enabling people to continue enjoying the lifestyles that matter most to them. This belief was proudly brought to life at our recent Burns Night Friendship Afternoon, held on Sunday 25 January at the iconic The Grand Southport.

The event brought members of our local community together in a warm, welcoming setting to celebrate friendship, culture, and the importance of staying socially connected. It also reflected our ongoing commitment to delivering premium home care in Southport that supports independence, wellbeing, and quality of life.

A Celebration of Friendship, Culture, and Community in Southport

Hosted at one of Southport’s most well-known landmarks, the Burns Night celebration honoured the life and poetry of Robbie Burns while creating an inclusive social experience for people living independently at home. Guests were welcomed with drinks on arrival before enjoying a traditional three-course Burns Night meal, followed by teas and coffees.

The afternoon was designed to be relaxed, friendly, and accessible, providing an opportunity for people to come together, make new connections, and enjoy shared experiences. For many attendees, it was a chance to step out, socialise, and feel part of a wider community, something we know plays a vital role in overall wellbeing.

Scottish-themed piano music, performed by Charles, created a warm and uplifting atmosphere throughout the afternoon. The music, combined with good food and conversation, helped make the event a highlight in many guests’ social calendars. We were delighted to hear so much positive feedback about the sense of togetherness and enjoyment felt by everyone who attended.

More Than Home Care: Supporting Social Connection and Wellbeing

At Radfield Home Care Southport, we are champions of care that people want as well as need. While we provide high-quality home care services in Southport, including companionship visits, daily home support, and Live in Care, we also recognise the importance of addressing loneliness and social isolation.

Community events like our Burns Night Friendship Afternoon form part of our wider commitment to helping people age well. By organising friendship outings, social gatherings, and supported trips, we aim to keep people connected to their interests, their communities, and each other.

These initiatives complement our personalised home care support in Southport, where our Care Professionals focus not only on physical needs but also on emotional wellbeing. Whether through meaningful conversation during a companionship visit or helping someone attend a social event, our approach is always centred on enabling independence and choice.

Working with Trusted Community Partners

We were proud to work alongside valued local partners to make the Burns Night celebration such a success. The hospitality team at The Grand provided outstanding service and a delicious menu, ensuring every guest felt welcomed and well looked after.

Safe, comfortable transport was provided by Charlton Mini Coaches, another trusted community partner. Guests travelled together in a luxury 35-seater coach, allowing everyone to enjoy a reliable, stress-free journey to and from the venue. Accessible transport is a key part of making community activities inclusive, and we are grateful for the professionalism and care shown throughout the day.

Our Ongoing Commitment to Home Care in Southport

Events like this reflect who we are as a premium private home care provider in Southport. We exist to help our nation age well by keeping people connected to the things that matter most to them – their routines, their relationships, and their sense of purpose.

As our Director, Dave Bellis, shared:

“We are committed to supporting people to stay connected to the lifestyles they enjoy. We are proud to work alongside community partners who help enhance connection, independence, and living well within our local communities.”

With more community events planned in the coming months, we look forward to continuing to bring people together while delivering high quality home care support in Southport and the surrounding areas.
