Care most definitely runs in the family at Radfield Home Care. Founders and siblings, Hannah and Alex, grew up in the large, successful residential care home set up and run for many years by their parents.
With 35 years’ experience, working in the residential care home and running local home care offices, not to mention caring for their own grandparents through Radfield, Alex and Hannah understand care in all its glory.
Now, as a national network of locally-owned offices, Radfield is on a mission to bring the same quality of care to communities across the UK.
“Care is amazing. Great quality care can transform a moment, a day, even a relationship. That’s why we believe care should be about making people feel understood, valued and supported. About enabling people to live their best life for as long as possible. That’s what exceptional care means to us. It’s what we grew up with, how our parents inspired us and now we’re proud to be working with outstanding franchise partners to take the Radfield standard of care out to the nation.”
Our story begins when Alex and Hannah’s parents, Chris and John, set up and opened Radfield Residential Home on Kennedy Road, Shrewsbury.
Hannah qualified as a doctor and then a GP, working across the UK and in New Zealand, while Alex worked in finance for companies such as HSBC and Halifax and a number of charitable organisations.
Spotting a need for local, quality home care, Alex and Hannah set up the first Radfield Home Care office in Shrewsbury. Working out of the garage adjacent to the residential home in the great entrepreneurial tradition.
Winning our first award was a proud moment for the whole team and recognition of Radfield’s achievements. We have since continued to consistently win awards for our service.
Given our commitment to investing in local communities and workforces, it was a natural move to launch Radfield’s franchising operation and extend our services to other areas.
The introduction of our industry-leading Caring for our Carers pledge™ made it clear how important our people are and what we promised to do in order to support them in providing exceptional care to our clients across all our local offices.
In 2017 we hosted our first Franchise Forum, bringing together our franchise partners and National Office team to share ideas and initiatives for enhancing support for our Care Professionals and the services they provide.

We moved into our National Office in Shoplatch, Shrewsbury, where our franchise support team are based. The team increasingly spend time on the road meeting with our franchise partners around the country.
We were delighted to win a highly prestigious accolade; the British Franchise Association’s HSBC Emerging Franchisor of the Year 2019.
A natural next step from the Franchise Forum events was the introduction of a forum for Registered Care Managers. These educational forums support the network to provide exceptional levels of care and ensure we are united behind our mission.
Following on from the Registered Care Managers Forum we introduced surgery sessions. The sessions bring together the collective experience and training of the network to provide Care Managers with the training to approach their role with confidence.
Radfield Home Care Stamford, Peterborough & Rutland achieved the coveted rating of “Outstanding” in their first-ever CQC inspection. Offices had received Outstanding ratings in specific performance areas but this was the first over Outstanding in the network and a phenomenal achievement.
In early 2022 we launched our fresh new logo, colours, website and Be There messaging. We are on a mission to help the nation age well by remaining connected to the things that matter the most to them. We do this by being there for our Care Professionals, for our clients, and for the wider community.
Radfield continues to grow and expand not only the local network but also the impact our teams have in the communities in which they work. The business made significant investments to support growth and set up success for the long term.
At Radfield Home Care, our purpose is to help the nation age well by remaining connected to the things that matter most. A key indicator of how well we do that is the feedback we receive from clients, this is why we are enormously proud to have been recognised as a Top 20 Home Care Group for five consecutive years by review-aggregator, Homecare.co.uk.
