Radfield care professionals receive M&S dine in vouchers

As a thank you for the team’s hard work throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Samuel Holmes, company director of Radfield Home Care Bexhill, Hastings and Battle paid for a Marks and Spencer ‘Dine in for two’ voucher for every member of staff.

Samuel presented the vouchers to each member of staff which they can exchange in a local M&S store for a well deserved treat. The gesture really hit a positive note with, care professional, Mel Maher, saying:

“Feeling appreciated can make a huge difference to your motivation while at work. During the early part of the Covid-19 lockdown all our care staff worked especially hard to care and protect all the clients while carrying out their normal care duties.

We were all generously gifted, by our director Samuel Holmes, with an M&S voucher so that we could enjoy a meal with our loved ones. The food from M&S is presented and made so well it made up for not being able to go out for a meal. It genuinely feels great to be part of a team that all want to do the same and that want to make a difference to somebody’s life – to be rewarded and thanked for that is just a huge bonus.”

Recognising and rewarding the consistent high levels of care that Radfield’s staff have maintained during the Covid crisis was important to Samuel:

“The coronavirus outbreak has been a huge challenge and has forced us to rapidly adapt the way in which our service is delivered. This would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of everyone and I am so proud of the fact that our service has operated without disruption over the last four months. The crisis has forced many changes in how we work but also how we better understand and support our staff. Treating everyone to a night off from cooking was the least I could do and I look forward to arranging a proper get together to say thank you again in the near future.”

Such recognition is even more important during a period that has seen unprecedented demands placed upon the care sector and the introduction of numerous new safety procedures – including the extended use of personal protective equipment (PPE). As part of Radfields ‘Caring for our CarersTM ‘ pledge, recognition for the work done by its care professionals forms an important part of the day to day management of the team. Care professionals receive transparent and fair remuneration for their hard work and ongoing commitment to providing exceptional care to their clients.
