Radfield Homecare

Our Story

Our Director, Samuel Holmes is a qualified social worker and has devoted a significant part of his career to supporting adults of all ages. He was inspired to launch the Hasting and Rother branch by his experience that most people want to continue living at home for as long and as independently as possible but struggle to find good quality care services. It was also his experience that loneliness and depression are common, particularly for those with multiple health problems or who have been recently bereaved.

We believe home care has the potential to transform people’s lives and should enable people to achieve far more than meet basic, practical needs. At its best, home care supports older people develop real relationships, meet friends, and maintain their presence in the community. Our carers are selected for their ability to be friendly and sociable as well as being good carers. We would always encourage people receiving home care to include support to engage in a community based activity and would support any of our clients find something for them.

Samuel has also worked extensively with numerous private care agencies and has met many extremely hard working carers who are not valued or respected by the companies they work for. Radfield Home Care values its carers and promotes their personal and professional development wherever possible. In taking this approach, the quality and continuity of our services is maintained, resulting in happier clients and greater peace of mind for their families.

Radfield Home Care believe negative stereotypes of older people prevent contributions such as volunteering, caring and working from being acknowledged by society. We intend to be champions for older people and demonstrate how the whole community is richer when their achievements are valued, respected, and celebrated by everyone.
