Radfield Welcomes Latest Home Care Assistants to the Family

We are delighted to welcome Louisa and Sarah to our growing Stamford, Peterborough & Rutland care team. Both Louisa and Sarah are new to the Home Care Assistant role, but come with a genuine passion for caring and a desire to help older people live independent and fulfilling lives in their own homes.

As Home Care Assistants, the two members of staff completed a range of e-learning courses, before attending a week-long induction training programme under the expert eye of Karen Nash, Registered Care Manager.

The training covered all aspects of care work, from an understanding of the role, to developing practical skills such as basic life support and helping clients with personal care. Following the face to face training, Louisa and Sarah are now completing supervised ‘shadowing’ calls and will be trained and assessed on a range of competencies. This will culminate in the award of the nationally recognised Care Certificate, which recognises the breadth and depth of the skills gained.

Karen Nash commented “Louisa and Sarah are fantastic additions to our care team and both passed the training with flying colours. We are very selective about who we bring into our ‘family’; we can teach the practical skills needed for caring, so our focus is on finding individuals who are not only capable and reliable, but who have a truly caring personality. Sarah and Louisa totally exceeded my already high expectations; we’re delighted to have them on board!”
