Visits from Jane are changing Brenda’s life for the better

This is Brenda, she’s been a client at our Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern office for some time now and we’re helping to change her life with every care visit.

Brenda

Brenda’s been having some issues with her mobility and she also needs some support with her personal care. She likes to get around using her walking frame, but to do so she needs some rehabilitation. This involves some gentle exercises and a little help from a Care Professional. Enter, Jane.

Jane joined us in January 2022 and she’s more than just a Care Professional to Brenda, she’s her friend too. The pair took to each other immediately, which makes the entire care experience for Brenda something to look forward to. At Radfield we are on a mission to help the nation age well and by matching our clients with the right Care Professionals, we can provide them with the best possible service.

Sometimes all you need is a listening ear

As you can probably imagine, providing care is a highly personal affair. But, it’s not all about physically helping people, sometimes it’s just about being there to have a chat when someone needs it. Often, a Care Professional might be the only person our client sees that day and so we make sure every single interaction counts.

Brenda tells us:

“The real highlight of my visits from the Care Professionals is the social aspect as I do love to chat, they always take the extra time out to listen to me and interact with my family too.“

Jane is always going above and beyond for her clients, it’s in her nature to help others and be there for them. It takes a certain type of person to become a Care Professional and to say Jane fits the bill would be an understatement. Compassionate, approachable, friendly and determined.

“The clients are all so lovely and always happy to see me, they really put a smile on my face. I take time out to make sure I get to know my clients and talk to them about their families too as this helps build trust and a good bond with them.”

Putting Brenda back on the front foot

Remember those gentle exercises I mentioned earlier?

 Brenda and Jane

They’re working as a team to get Brenda back on her feet. Helping someone with their rehabilitation isn’t easy, you need a connection if you want to keep them motivated and trying their best. Jane’s natural affinity for care, coupled with Brenda’s charming personality make them the perfect fit.

“I get support with personal care which really helps me and also to do my exercises and support with walking with my frame which I need for my rehabilitation.

I struggle to get out of the house at the moment so the support of the Care Professionals is so important to me for my day-to-day living and independence. They are always so helpful and kind and brilliant at their job! I particularly love the social interaction and have great relationships with them, especially Jane!”

Brenda’s life is being changed for the better and Jane is right there by her side.

We look after our care family

At the heart of care are our Care Professionals and without them, we couldn’t provide the exceptional service that we’re known for. We created our ‘Caring for our Carers™ Pledge’ with this in mind:

  • Create a culture which is welcoming, friendly, inclusive and supportive.
  • Through appreciation and recognition, proudly celebrate the achievements of individuals and teams.
  • Reward with transparent and fair remuneration for hard work and commitment.
  • Consistently empower staff to develop skills and knowledge, building confidence to enable career progression.

We’re committed to building a care team that really feels valued and cared for, Jane tells us:

“I love my job so much and so glad I chose to work for Radfield Home Care! I am interested in further development within my role and am looking forward to additional dementia training. I get lots of support from the office and really feel part of an amazing team.”
