The management team understood issues in the local community and worked to address them through effective working with a wide range of other organisations.”
With a team of 25 care professionals and office management, the report described the nature of the service as “excellently managed” and “a positive role model to other organisations and the local community”.

“Our ethos here at Radfield Home Care has always been to ensure we provide a supportive work environment for our team, in order to empower them to provide excellent care and support for our clients. This Outstanding CQC inspection demonstrates the power of this approach, with specific recognition for how we lead the team and the care the team provides to clients.
“I am so proud of everyone’s involvement in achieving this milestone and to be the only Outstanding home care provider in York and surrounding area is extraordinary.”
This was Radfield Home Care York, Thirsk & Ryedale’s first inspection by the CQC, which is notoriously difficult to achieve such a prestigious rating and positive feedback in.
One client told the CQC inspector: “They go out of their way to be helpful; they go the extra mile to finish a job, even in their own time. When a supermarket let me down with my food order, one carer said, ‘I’ve got an hour spare, let me have a look at your list.’ She went and got my shopping, everything that was on my list. I think staff go out of their way to help you.”
The CQC is the independent regulator of health and social care in England, overseeing care homes, hospitals, dental services, clinics, services in your home, GP surgeries, mental health services and services in the community. As well as registering and inspecting these services, the CQC takes action to protect people who use services, provide comment on major quality issues in health and social care, as well as protecting the rights of vulnerable people.
