This month we’re very happy to welcome on board Dalvir Syan, the newest Radfield Home Care franchise partner for East Berkshire.
As the Radfield Home Care franchise grows, we’re starting to see more and more partners from diverse different backgrounds. Many, of course, come from a background in care, already understanding how powerful this model can be in improving lives, but just as often, we’re seeing people from completely different industries making the move into care – driven by a desire to make a real difference.
Dalvir’s story is a great example of this shift. With a professional background as a Chartered Accountant, he brings a fresh perspective to the business, but his motivation for joining Radfield is one that’s becoming more and more common: a personal connection to care and a strong desire to give back.
“Moving into care is something I have wanted to do for a long time.” Dalvir told us.” My grandparents needed both residential and home care quite early in their lives, so I’ve always seen just how important quality care is to people. Not just to their loved ones, but to those who want to do their best by them, too.
I have many of the skills and experience to run a business – managing teams, working with clients, keeping the books – and I always hoped I could use them to do something like this. Radfield gave me that chance.”
Radfield Home Care’s mission is to help the nation age well by remaining connected to the things that matter the most to them. For many, that means giving them the care and support they need to remain in their own homes for as long as possible. As someone with experience of loved ones in both residential and home care, this was a huge factor for Dalvir.
“I know that there are so many barriers to great care for so many people. Long-term residential care is just not affordable for most people, and it’s not something most people want, either. Some don’t have a choice, of course, but most people obviously want to stay in the homes they love for as long as possible. There’s definitely a big demand for care services which can help them do that, and not nearly enough care providers who can deliver the kind of care which is needed.”
Dalvir looked at quite a few care franchises while looking for the right opportunity, including many of the big name brands we are all familiar with, but starting a business in this sector requires a deep level of personal commitment and that means finding a brand whose values and mission you can really believe in.
“I had plenty of options but Radfield really fit the bill in terms of what I wanted to do. I really wanted to choose a franchise which not only offers great care to its service users, but also cares for its workers and partners, too. You hear so many horror stories about carers being severely underpaid and overworked, and that’s not good for anyone.
When I came across Radfield, they just ticked all the right boxes. All of their values really resonated with me. They just really get it, and understand exactly what our ageing loved ones need and deserve: great quality home care which is tailored to them, and carers who well-looked after and always willing to go above and beyond.”
When we spoke to Dalvir, he was just a few days into the launch of his new business, but we hope to catch up with him again in a few months to learn how he is getting on!
For Dalvir, a Radfield franchise was the perfect combination of a great business model and a system for delivering exactly the kind of care we all want for our loved-ones. Could it be the perfect fit for you?
