Day Centre And Events Manager

What is your background prior to joining Radfield?

I started my career as a hairdresser, but then took a break in order to bring up my family. I did a few years in retail before deciding to work for a care company. I became a HCA at Countess of Chester Hospital and spent 4 years on the colorectal ward and 4 years on the stroke unit. Eventually I left the hospital and went back to care in the community, where I found Radfield Home Care Chester, an organisation that had the same values that I believe the elderly deserve.

How has your background prepared you for your new role at RHC?

My life experiences has been a great factor in understanding the needs of people. I learned a great deal and knew that care was what I wanted to do.

What has inspired you to want to be involved in the adult social care sector?

Whilst I was working in retail, my mum became ill. After a bad experience with the care my mum received in the hospital, I began to think I wanted to provide better care to the elderly.

How do you feel your role, and your experience, will benefit Radfield’s clients?

I feel I have the understanding and traits needed to help fulfil the needs of both our clients and care professionals.
