Radfield Home Care Slough, Maidenhead & Windsor is proud to support the health and wellbeing of people in the local community through a new partnership with People to Places. As part of this collaboration, Radfield Home Care is sponsoring one of the charity’s community minibuses to help residents stay active, independent, and connected.
People to Places is a well-established charitable organisation that has been providing community transport and Shopmobility services across the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead since 1989. Their work plays a vital role in supporting people with mobility challenges to access their community and maintain independence.
This commitment to accessibility closely reflects Radfield’s purpose; helping the nation age well by keeping people connected to the things that matter most to them.
Dalvir Syan, Owner and Director of Radfield Home Care Slough, Maidenhead & Windsor, said:
“We see every day how important independence and connection are for the people we support. Reliable transport can make a huge difference to someone’s ability to stay active, attend appointments, and continue enjoying their community.
We are proud to support the incredible work that People to Places has been delivering across Windsor and Maidenhead for many years. Sponsoring this community minibus is one way we can contribute to helping local residents remain independent and connected.”
The sponsorship helps support a door-to-door Dial-a-Ride minibus service for local residents. This essential transport service ensures that individuals who may struggle with mobility or access to public transport can still attend important appointments and remain engaged with their community. For many people, this includes travelling to medical appointments at local hospitals such as Wexham Park Hospital or the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Reliable transport can make a significant difference to someone’s ability to manage their health and wellbeing.
When an older family member has a stay in hospital, it is common to wonder; how can they safely return home after their hospital stay? At Radfield, we can support with a bespoke support package that meets their needs and empowers their independence at home.
In addition to community transport services, People to Places operates Shopmobility equipment hire in Windsor and Maidenhead. This allows people to hire wheelchairs and mobility scooters, making it easier to access town centres, shops, and local services. These services help people remain active and confident in their daily lives; something that is especially important for older adults who want to continue enjoying their independence.
Radfield Care Professionals see every day how important social connection is for the people they support. Limited mobility and transport barriers can often lead to social isolation; particularly for older people living alone.
By supporting People to Places and their community minibus service, Radfield Home Care is helping more people stay connected with friends, family, healthcare services, and their wider community.
