Radfield Home Care and Orpington District E-Club Host Successful Care Information Day in Orpington

Radfield Home Care Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham, in partnership with the Orpington District E-Club, successfully hosted a lively and informative Care Information Day on Tuesday 25th November at Orpington Methodist Church. The free event, which ran from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm, gave attendees the opportunity to explore care options in Orpington, Bromley, and Beckenham, learn about support services, and connect with organisations dedicated to enhancing wellbeing for older adults and their families.

Visitors included local residents, Care Professionals, health experts, and community groups, all helping to create a welcoming atmosphere filled with information, conversation, and shared purpose. We aimed to bring together trusted organisations so people could ask questions freely and feel supported, ensuring everyone felt comfortable exploring their care options and accessing the guidance they needed.

Insightful Talks from Community Professionals

A key feature of the event was a series of short, informative talks from professionals across the community and care sectors. These sessions offered practical insights and guidance tailored to older adults and their families.

Radfield Home Care Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham also welcomed MC Mercedes Yearley, Director of Quest Soul Theatre C.I.C, who spoke about mental health and the support options available for local residents. One of the day’s highlights was the attendance of the London Mayor of Bromley, Jonathan Andrews, who engaged with stallholders and community members about the importance of accessible care information and early support.

Speakers included:

Manaks Solicitors – Rima Patel, delivering a helpful overview of legal affairs relating to private client matters, including wills, powers of attorney, and protecting personal wishes.

Valentines Funeral Directors – Gary Valentine, who discussed the benefits of planning ahead, offering practical advice to ease emotional and financial pressures on families.

Dementia support in Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham – Bromley Well / Age UK / Bromley Dementia Friends Community GroupNikki Fisherman, who provided valuable information on support services available for people living with dementia in Bromley, as well as resources for carers.

London Fire Brigade – Rebecca Selwood, sharing essential advice about home safety for older adults, including fire prevention, home checks, and how to access personalised safety visits.

Local Care Adviser Roberta Svile, who explored care choices for the elderly, helping families understand the range of support options available as needs evolve.

These talks received excellent feedback from attendees, many of whom expressed appreciation for the clarity and reassurance they provided.

“Hearing directly from experts made everything feel less overwhelming,” said Linda Powers – Attendee.
