Radfield care team celebrate NHS with great carer bake off

Coronavirus presented an enormous set of challenges for everyone across the UK, especially for those key workers that we have come to cherish so much. We wanted to show our thanks by bringing our Radfield family together to celebrate those marvellous people that saved and protected so many lives.

Celebrating those who care and who we care for

Key workers weren’t the only heroes during the pandemic, the amazing people they care for deserve recognition too. When lockdown hit, the team were busy baking all kinds of delicious treats to help keep clients’ spirits up. During that time, our Stamford, Peterborough & Rutland branch gained a great reputation for baking, so, what better way to celebrate than to deliver a homemade Afternoon Tea Box to everyone they support?

The team set about the task with gusto, with everyone contributing their own specialty to the Afternoon Tea Boxes that were then individually presented to clients. Care Professional Gaynor said:

“The last year has been a difficult time for many clients and, for some of them, our visits have been the only outside contact that they have had. Baking has been one of the things that we’ve done to add a little cheer to their lives, so it was an obvious way for us to celebrate the NHS, Social Care & Frontline Workers Day with them.

Our family team has been great, providing some amazing contributions, from chocolate brownies and shortbread biscuits to sausage rolls and savoury scones. My specialty was apple & sultana cake, I really hope that they enjoyed it!!”,

Chris Audsley, Registered Care Manager, adds:

“We wanted to use this special occasion to show our gratitude to the fabulous family of carers we have. They have consistently pulled out the stops to go the extra mile for our clients throughout the pandemic. It’s been lovely to get our team together for the first time in over a year, but it wouldn’t have been the same without sharing the moment with our clients. The Afternoon Tea Boxes went down incredibly well with them all; they were hugely appreciated”
