Sunshine, community spirit and plenty of dancing made for a fantastic day as Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern joined hundreds of local residents at this year’s Warndon Villages Summer Fete.
With temperatures soaring, it was certainly warm, but that didn’t stop the community coming together to enjoy a wonderful celebration of local organisations, entertainment, live music and family fun.
Leading the Radfield team was our newest community ambassador, Brad the Radfield Bear, who quickly became one of the stars of the day. From posing for photographs and showing off his dance moves to meeting children, families and local residents, Brad spent the day spreading smiles wherever he went.

Visitors to the Radfield stand were invited to take part in two brand-new games designed for those interested in supporting local charity fundraising events Worcester residents love, both created to raise money for Parkinson’s UK, Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern’s chosen charity.
The first, Brad’s Buddies, challenged visitors to guess how many gummy bears were hiding inside a giant jar, with the lucky winner taking home the entire tub.
Alongside it was Teddy Treasures, a game where participants selected a coloured lolly stick to reveal their prize. Green sticks won one of Brad’s miniature teddy bear friends, yellow sticks unlocked the jackpot prize, while Brad’s special purple sticks offered a fun surprise for those lucky enough to pick one.

Throughout the day, the Radfield team enjoyed speaking with local families about the support available through our high-quality companion care services in Worcester, home care, and our local adult day care centre in Worcester, while introducing new faces to Brad and sharing more about the work we do across Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern.
Community Engagement Officer Maddy Bradley said:
“Events like the Warndon Villages Summer Fete are a fantastic opportunity to connect with our local community outside of a care setting. Whether someone stopped by to play a game, meet Brad, or simply have a chat about care for themselves or a loved one, every conversation mattered. Seeing so many people enjoying themselves while raising money for Parkinson’s UK made the day incredibly special.”

As well as raising funds, the event reinforced Radfield Home Care’s commitment to building stronger, healthier communities through meaningful engagement. Community events provide valuable opportunities to raise awareness of local support, reduce isolation and encourage conversations about ageing well, all while creating enjoyable experiences for people of all ages.
The team would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Warndon Villages Summer Fete Committee for organising such a well-run and welcoming event. The hard work of the organisers, volunteers, stallholders and performers created a memorable day that showcased the very best of community spirit.
As for Brad, after a full day of dancing, waving and meeting his new friends, we think he’s already looking forward to next year’s fete!
We’d also like to thank everyone who visited our stand, played our games and supported our fundraising efforts for Parkinson’s UK. Your generosity will help make a real difference to people living with Parkinson’s, and we’re incredibly grateful for your support.
Here’s to another fantastic year of connecting with our community!
