As Registered Care Manager at Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern, I am incredibly proud to share that our Care Professionals have voted to make Parkinson’s UK our 2026 House Charity.
This decision came directly from our team. Our Care Professionals work closely with individuals and families living with Parkinson’s every day. They understand the physical challenges, the emotional adjustments, and the impact on loved ones. Their vote reflects both professional insight and heartfelt compassion.
Parkinson’s is a complex, progressive neurological condition. It affects movement, balance and speech; it also impacts confidence, mental wellbeing and independence. Behind every diagnosis is a family navigating change together.
As a care-led organisation, our focus is always on helping people live well, safely and independently for as long as possible. Parkinson’s UK shares that same ethos, not only funding vital research, but providing practical information, campaigning for better services, and building strong local support networks. This work aligns closely with our own values where dignity, connection and person-centred support are at the forefront of our delivery.
Our Community Engagement Officer works closely with local Parkinson’s support groups across Worcester and Droitwich, maintaining strong relationships and offering practical support. These groups provide safe, welcoming spaces for people living with Parkinson’s, and for family members and carers, to share experiences and access information.
We are proud to stand alongside these groups and signpost individuals to the monthly meetings held locally in:
Community-based support is invaluable; it reassures people that they are not alone and empowers them with friendship.
To launch our fundraising efforts, we are currently running an Easter Hamper Raffle in aid of Parkinson’s UK. We have created a wonderful hamper, with all proceeds going directly to support the charity’s work. Every ticket purchased contributes to research, support services and advocacy for people affected by Parkinson’s.
Choosing Parkinson’s UK as our House Charity is about more than raising money. It is about recognising the lived experiences of the people we support, listening to our team, and strengthening the community around us. As Registered Care Manager, I see the resilience of those living with Parkinson’s and the dedication of our Care Professionals every day. Supporting Parkinson’s UK feels deeply meaningful.
Care, for us, extends beyond the care plan; it is about community, compassion and standing together.
