On Wednesday 16th July, Southport Municipal Golf Club came alive with sunshine, smiles and a shared sense of purpose as we proudly hosted our annual charity golf day in support of Marie Curie. At Radfield Home Care Liverpool North & Sefton, we are more than just a provider of home care services. We are part of the local community, and we are passionate about supporting the people and causes that matter most across Liverpool North, Sefton, Ormskirk and Southport.
With golfers, friends and supporters coming together, we raised an impressive £407.22 for Marie Curie. Further monthly donations through our JustGiving page will continue to support the charity’s essential work for people living with life-limiting illness across the local area.
The atmosphere throughout the day was full of warmth and laughter. Twelve golfers joined us for 18 holes of friendly competition, including Phil and James from our national Radfield Home Care office in Shrewsbury, Graeme from Marine FC, and his nephew who travelled from Dubai to be part of the day.
We were proud to welcome a team of friends and family from our local community, including our director Dave Bellis, his son Hugh, and Hugh’s friends Finn, Archie and Lewis. Dave’s wife Lin kindly provided refreshments that kept everyone going on the course. Also joining us were Rylea Herrien-Jones, Marie Curie’s Community Fundraiser for Lancashire and our dedicated Community Volunteer Joe Sherville.
The winning team on the day was made up of Hugh, Finn, Archie and Lewis. They were thrilled to receive prizes including Southport Golf Club logo towels, bottles of wine and golf balls. Their energy and enthusiasm reflected the positive spirit of the entire event.
As the golf came to a close, we hosted a lively auction which added even more to our fundraising total. Rylea presented the winning team with a trophy and shared a sincere message of thanks on behalf of Marie Curie. She reminded us all that every single contribution helps to ensure people across Liverpool North, Sefton, Ormskirk and Southport receive the support and care they deserve at the end of life.
