A Morning of Community Spirit at Toby Carvery Ormskirk

A Morning of Community Spirit at Toby Carvery Ormskirk

At Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, we are passionate about supporting local wellbeing and building strong community connections. On 4th July, we hosted another successful Wellbeing & Living Well Social Hub at the welcoming Toby Carvery Ormskirk. With delicious full English breakfasts and lively football spirit, it was a morning of warmth, laughter and local pride.

Local Community Comes Together

Our free monthly breakfast social, held on the first Friday of every month, is open to everyone. This month’s event was filled with friendly faces, hot meals and plenty of cheerful conversation. The relaxed setting gave people a chance to connect and enjoy a meaningful start to the day.

We were proud to welcome residents and staff from Courtfield Lodge Care Home, Cllr Ann Fennell, former Cllr Noel Delaney and many wonderful members of the public. It was a reminder of how strong Ormskirk’s community spirit truly is.

Supporting the England Lionesses

With England flags on display and smiles all around, guests joined together to support the England Lionesses. It was a vibrant and hopeful atmosphere, with everyone showing their pride for the national team. Football brings people together, and so does great food and conversation.

Fundraising for Marie Curie

The morning also featured a special visit from Rylie, Regional Fundraiser for Marie Curie. Rylie shared exciting news about our upcoming Radfield “Tee Off” Golf Day, which will raise funds for this vital charity. It was a great way to inspire support for a meaningful cause.

As always, the event was expertly organised by our dedicated Community Engagement Lead, Lesley Malone, with support from our fantastic volunteers, Joe and Sandra Sherville. These events are made possible through local sponsors and venues like Toby Carvery, who share our commitment to inclusive, uplifting experiences for older people.

Lesley shared:

“Our monthly socials are free, inclusive and open to all. Whether someone lives at home, in a care home or in retirement housing, they are always welcome. These events are about bringing joy and improving wellbeing.”

Looking Ahead to More Summer Activities

We’re now looking forward to our popular annual coach trips to New Brighton and The Grand Hotel in Southport, thanks to support from Charlton Mini Coaches. These outings are another way we help local people enjoy new experiences, stay active and stay connected.

Our Care Professionals support individuals in the local area not only through expert home care services, but also by helping people stay involved in their community and maintain the lifestyle they value.

Join Us Next Time

Our next Wellbeing & Living Well Social Hub takes place on the first Friday of the month at Toby Carvery Ormskirk. If you live locally and are looking for company, conversation and a free breakfast, come along, everyone is welcome.

We are committed to supporting a stronger, healthier Ormskirk, one gathering at a time.
