On Sunday 17th August, our Community Café in Ossett hosted a fantastic Sunday lunch, celebrating the positive impact we’re making in the local community. The afternoon was filled with laughter, music, dancing, and friendly competition, including, Rock ‘n’ Roll Bingo, and a raffle, alongside a delicious meal kindly provided by Cater Hub.
A special thank you to Rebecca Marcham Revell, who bravely completed a wing walk, raising £500 for Community Connections, our partner organisation, and a further £500 for the Ossett United Under-7s team she manages. Rebecca joined us at our Sunday lunch with her husband and young son, giving us the perfect opportunity to celebrate her achievement and the support she brings to our local community.
The event highlighted the importance of social connection, companionship, and community support. Guests sang along, waved their arms, and even did a bit of jigging in their chairs, showing the joy our friendly café for socially isolated people brings to Ossett, Wakefield, and surrounding areas.
