What to Expect During Your Care Consultation

Helping you find the right care in Wakefield, Ossett and Huddersfield

At Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield, we understand that choosing care for yourself or a loved one is a significant decision. That is why we offer a free, no-obligation home care consultation to help you explore your options in a relaxed, pressure-free way.

Whether you are exploring home care options in Wakefield, Huddersfield or Ossett, including live in care, short-term respite care or ongoing personalised visits, this first meeting helps us design a service that truly fits around you.

Planning Care That Fits Around Your Life

Hear directly from our FCS Client Lead, Wendy, as she walks you through the consultation process and how we support families every step of the way.

What Happens During a Care Consultation?

One of our experienced team members, usually your dedicated Client Care Lead, will visit you at home at a time that suits you. The visit usually lasts around 60 to 90 minutes and gives us the opportunity to listen, learn and understand exactly what matters most to you.

During your consultation, we will talk through:

Your needs and preferences
Whether you are looking for personal care, help with medication, companionship or support getting out and about.

Your usual daily routine
So we can build care around your lifestyle rather than expecting you to change it.

Any medical or mobility concerns
Including long-term conditions, fall risks or medication support needs.

Your likes, dislikes and wishes
From hobbies and social interests to favourite meals or how you like your morning cup of tea.

Family involvement
We are happy to include family members or loved ones in the conversation if that helps you feel more at ease.

“We are here to listen. Every consultation is about finding out what you want and what support would really make a difference, whether that is starting care now, next month, or just exploring your options.”

– Wendy, FCS Client Lead, Radfield Home Care Wakefield & Huddersfield

What Happens After the Consultation?

There is absolutely no pressure to make a decision on the day. After the consultation, we will stay in touch to answer any further questions and provide any additional information you might need.

If and when you feel ready to proceed, we will work closely with you to agree a start date and prepare a detailed, personalised care plan that is fully tailored to your needs.

What Families Say About Us

“Dad took some persuading to accept care and we are so pleased that we chose Radfield. You set us at ease, Wendy, built a programme around Dad’s needs and managed us through the process with the right support, so we thank you once again for that.”

–  Family member of a Radfield Home Care client
