Radfield Home Care Chester raises £900 for Dementia UK

Supporting people living with dementia is something that matters deeply to us at Radfield Home Care Chester & Ellesmere Port. Every day, we see the importance of compassionate support, meaningful connection and trusted guidance for individuals and families navigating dementia care at home.

That is why we were so proud to come together with our local community for a special fundraising week in support of Dementia UK.

As more families across the UK search for reliable dementia care support for elderly loved ones, charities such as Dementia UK continue to play an important role in helping people access specialist advice, reassurance and practical support when they need it most.

During our fundraising week, we were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity shown by our team, clients, families, friends and local businesses across Chester. Together, we raised an incredible £900 to help support people living with dementia and the loved ones who care for them every day.

Coming together to support dementia care

On the Tuesday, members of our team, alongside family and friends, took on a sponsored walk around the historic walls of Chester.

The event brought people together for an enjoyable afternoon while raising awareness of the growing need for dementia support services within our communities.

Cake & Cuppa event

The fundraising continued on the Wednesday with our Cake & Cuppa event at our office. We welcomed so many wonderful visitors throughout the day, including local businesses, clients, families and members of the community who joined us for tea, cake and conversation.

The atmosphere was warm, friendly and uplifting. Beyond fundraising, the event created an opportunity for people to talk openly about dementia, ask questions and connect with others who may be supporting a loved one living with memory loss or cognitive decline.

For many families researching dementia home care services in the UK, these conversations can provide reassurance that they are not alone.

We would also like to give a very special thank you to Maxine, our dedicated Field Care Supervisor, who organised the entire fundraising week. From coordinating the sponsored walk to arranging the Cake & Cuppa event, Maxine worked incredibly hard to bring everyone together for such an important cause. Her passion, enthusiasm and commitment helped make the week such a wonderful success.

Why Dementia UK’s work matters

Dementia UK is a national charity dedicated to supporting families affected by dementia through its specialist Admiral Nurses. These nurses provide expert practical advice, emotional support and guidance to families facing the challenges that dementia can bring.

For many people, receiving a dementia diagnosis can feel frightening and overwhelming, not only for the individual but also for those closest to them. Dementia UK helps families understand their options, navigate complex emotions and access support that allows loved ones to live with greater comfort, dignity and independence.

As demand for dementia support services in the UK continues to grow, charities like Dementia UK provide an essential lifeline for families who may otherwise feel isolated or unsure where to turn for help.
