At Radfield Home Care Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham, we are proud to be improving the safety and wellbeing of older people across the local area through the introduction of a new, free health monitoring service for our clients.
This new service includes the use of the Whzan Blue Box system, an innovative piece of equipment that allows Care Professionals to carry out important health checks from the comfort of a client’s home. It is now being used as part of our personalised care service in Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham to help older people live independently for longer.
The Whzan Blue Box is a small, discreet device that monitors vital signs including blood pressure, temperature and oxygen levels. These regular checks can help identify early signs of illness or changes in wellbeing that might otherwise go unnoticed.
By spotting these changes sooner, Care Professionals can alert family members or healthcare teams quickly. This helps ensure early medical support and may reduce the risk of hospital admissions. The system also calculates the NHS National Early Warning Score 2 (NEWS2), a tool widely used by medical professionals to monitor patients who may be at risk of serious health issues.
This additional monitoring provides clients and their loved ones with added reassurance that their health is being supported as part of their daily care.
“Our goal has always been to help people stay living safely at home for as long as possible,” said Simi Ghuman, Director of Radfield Home Care Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham. “The introduction of the Whzan Blue Box allows us to offer an extra level of reassurance to our clients and their families, at no extra cost.”
Alongside our high-quality home care services in Bromley, Orpington & Beckenham, Radfield also runs a free monthly Connections Café at Community House Bromley. Organised in partnership with Quest Soul Theatre C.I.C., the café offers older adults the opportunity to take part in creative activities and enjoy friendly, social experiences.
The event is open to all and reflects Radfield’s broader commitment to supporting older people not only through care, but also through connection and companionship.
