Your December Newsletter from Radfield Home Care Epsom and Leatherhead

Welcome to your December newsletter from Radfield Home Care Epsom and Leatherhead. As we move into the festive season, we hope you enjoy catching up on the past month and discovering what is happening locally. This update is for our clients, their families and our Care Professionals, bringing together wellbeing tips, community news and helpful guidance.

Understanding Sundowning and How We Help

Dementia support in Epsom and Leatherhead

Sundowning can be difficult and often appears later in the afternoon or evening. Someone with dementia may become more confused, unsettled or anxious, although it can happen at any time. It is thought to affect around 20 percent of people living with dementia at home.

As a provider of dementia care in Epsom and Leatherhead, we focus on calm, consistent and reassuring support. Our Care Professionals take time to understand personal routines and triggers so each person feels safe and supported. A steady routine, soft lighting and gentle activities can be very helpful. Fresh air earlier in the day and time spent listening also play a role in reducing distress. If you are caring for a loved one and would like advice, we are always here to talk.

Living Well With Diabetes

November’s Diabetes Awareness Month was a helpful reminder of how many factors affect blood sugar. Stress, hydration, illness, routine changes and activity levels all influence how the body manages energy.

We highlighted the importance of regular eye screenings and foot checks, which help identify small changes before they become more worrying. Supporting clients with home care in Epsom and Leatherhead gives us a clear view of how small, positive habits can make day to day life easier. We will continue sharing practical guidance throughout the year.
