On 13th November 2025, members of the Radfield Home Care Bexhill, Hastings & Battle team proudly attended the East Sussex Care Awards 2025. This annual event celebrates excellence in adult social care across the region and recognises those delivering outstanding home care in East Sussex. Held during a glittering gala evening at Uckfield Golf Club, the awards brought together Care Professionals from across the county for a night of recognition, appreciation and celebration.
We were delighted to have two of our incredible team members shortlisted as finalists, representing the very best of award-winning care in Bexhill, Hastings and Battle:
The evening was made even more special as Bernie and Bridget were joined by supportive colleagues and friends, including Jade Torode, Caroline Sadler, Registered Care Manager Jo Gardner, and Radfield Home Care owner Samuel Holmes. Everyone was there to cheer them on and celebrate their achievements in delivering high-quality, personalised home care.
After winning last year’s End of Life Care Award, Bernie Williams returned as a finalist in one of the most demanding categories, Complex Care. Over the past year, Bernie has delivered exceptional live-in care to clients with life-changing conditions including stroke and Multiple Sclerosis. Her work reflects the very best of complex home care in East Sussex, combining skill, compassion and consistency.
While she did not take home the trophy this year, Bernie was deservedly awarded Highly Commended by the judges. This recognition highlights her ongoing dedication, professionalism and impact within complex and person-centred home care. We are incredibly proud of Bernie, who continues to raise standards for compassionate, high-quality home care in Bexhill, Hastings and Battle.
We are absolutely delighted to share that Bridget Kativu was named the winner of the International Excellence in Social Care Award.
Bridget moved from Zimbabwe to the UK over three years ago to pursue a career in care and work towards her ambition of becoming a nurse. Since joining Radfield Home Care, she has shown outstanding dedication in her role as a live-in Care Professional. Most recently, she has been supporting a young disabled family, delivering personalised home care with compassion, patience and an enabling approach that supports independence and choice.
Alongside her primary role, Bridget has consistently gone above and beyond by supporting older clients, obtaining her UK driving licence and seeking further training to develop her skills. Her resilience, commitment and professionalism make her a truly deserving recipient of this award and a shining example of award-winning care in East Sussex.
Bridget’s win is not only a celebration of her own achievements, but also a recognition of the immense value that international Care Professionals bring to adult social care in the UK. Their skills, dedication and cultural richness strengthen care teams and enhance the quality of home care in communities like Bexhill, Hastings and Battle.

The awards night was filled with warmth, inspiration and pride. With live music, heartfelt speeches and powerful stories of compassion and perseverance, the event reminded us why delivering high-quality home care matters so much.
To see both Bridget and Bernie recognised among the very best Care Professionals in East Sussex is an incredible honour for Radfield Home Care Bexhill, Hastings & Battle. We are immensely proud of what they have achieved and grateful to have such talented, passionate people delivering award-winning home care the Radfield way.
