Growing Team

It’s been a busy month for the team with Vicki and Gilanda passing their 3 month probation and achieving their care certificates.

Did you know that all our Care Professionals have regular spot checks, supervision, competencies, and annual refresher training? We would like to thank the team for all their hard work and dedication.

Dementia care & support

Whilst dementia itself is not a disease, there are some diseases, such as Alzheimer’s, which cause it. Sometimes different types of dementia are present in a patient at the same time. When this happens, it is known as mixed dementia. The four most common types of dementia in the UK are:

  • Lewy Body Dementia (DLB)
  • Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD)
  • Vascular Dementia
  • Alzheimer’s Disease Dementia (most common in the UK)

These rarer Dementias make up 5% of the UK cases:

  • Huntington’s Disease, CADASIL, PSP, NHP, CBS etc
  • Parkinson Disease Dementia
  • Young or Early on-set Dementia

There are approx. 850,000 living with dementia in the UK. With Alzheimer’s Disease accounting for 60% of those diagnosed and one in three people will care for someone with dementia in their lifetime.

If you or someone you know would benefit from dementia care & support, then please reach out to our friendly team.
