Radfield Supports Romford Community Event

This Sunday Radfield Home Care Havering & Brentwood had a stall at the Mum2mum Market in Harold Hill Community Centre

We had a fantastic and fun day meeting great people from the local Romford community. We had some great chats about what it’s like to have a career in care and sharing more information about what we do at Radfield.

Working in care really is for anyone… You don’t require experience in the industry to work for Radfield as we train our team from the ground up. It can be as flexible or as structured as you choose best to fit your life.

Radfield Home Care is striving to change the face of care work for the better, here are just a few ways we are going about it…

Caring for our people

At Radfield one of our core values is ‘we are a family’. Therefore we really do put ourselves in the shoes of our people and treat them how they liked to be treated. This means having an open culture of feedback, a welcoming office environment and a non-hierarchical structure where everyone’s opinion counts.

Paying our carers fairly

We believe that you should get paid fully and fairly for the hours that you work. As a result we use a pay structure for our carers that means they get paid an hourly rate, as well as getting paid for the time they travel to each home care visit. On top of this we pay our people for their mileage. This open and transparent system means that our carers really do get paid for the whole time they are out working in the community.

Providing opportunities for career progression

Caring can be a career if you want it to be. We continually invest in our team through training and development both on and off the job. Our team go through a comprehensive induction training programme which consists of e-learning, theory, practical and on the job training. As a result our team become confident they can do their job effectively. We have opportunities for our carers to progress in the industry, starting at a senior carer and on longer term basis there is potential to move into a care coordinator or field care supervisor role. We believe regular performance reviews and an open feedback mechanism is fundamental to our team’s development so these meetings are always prioritised.

Every day is different here at Radfield

Caring for others is such a valuable, life affirming job and we can safely say that at Radfield Home Care, every day is different. Our carers may be having a cup of tea with a client one day and reminiscing about the past, to taking another out on a trip to fulfill one of their life ambitions the next. We don’t just offer personal care to our clients, we aim to provide friendship and support, welcoming them into the Radfield family.
