What a fantastic year it has been for our team at Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern!
Throughout the summer, we set up our gazebo, loaded up our stall with free care guides and information packs, and spent our weekends out in the neighbourhood meeting local residents, catching up with familiar faces, and listening to stories from across the county.
We were delighted to take our Radfield stall along to three major local highlights: Warndon Village Summer Fete, The Worcester Show, and Saltfest in Droitwich Spa.
While each gathering had its own distinct character, they all shared a welcoming, vibrant atmosphere. More than anything, these events gave us a chance to offer friendly, informal guidance to families who were unsure where to turn for clear answers about local care options.
Our event season began in Warndon Village, where the summer sunshine brought crowds of local residents out to enjoy the stalls and activities.
For many people who stopped by our stall asking where to get advice on care for older relatives, having a relaxed, face-to-face chat made a real difference. Rather than navigating confusing websites or paperwork, visitors could pick up our practical guides, ask questions at their own pace, and talk through their family circumstances without any pressure.
Community fetes are about far more than handing out leaflets. They give us the opportunity to listen carefully, build relationships, and understand the day-to-day challenges local families are facing.
Next, we headed to Pitchcroft for The Worcester Show. As one of the biggest dates on the local calendar, the atmosphere was buzzing from start to finish.
Throughout the day, many sons and daughters visited our stall wanting to know how to arrange care for an older parent in Worcester or asking when to start looking into home care.
Facing changing health needs or noticing a parent slowing down at home can feel daunting, so being able to offer simple reassurance, explaining options like companionship visits or morning help, helped take the worry out of those initial conversations.
We loved being part of such a well-loved city event and chatting with everyone who stopped by to say hello or collect a Radfield goody bag.
To wrap up our summer, we spent three full days at Saltfest in Droitwich Spa. Having an extended stay gave us a fantastic opportunity to settle in, meet hundreds of visitors, and truly immerse ourselves in the festival atmosphere.
We spent hours answering specific practical queries such as how does visiting care work, how respite care can give family carers a regular break, and how tailored home support helps people remain independent in the houses they love.
Whether speaking with people who already knew Radfield or introducing ourselves to residents for the first time, the warm reception across all three days made it a memorable highlight of our year.
Looking back over the summer, we feel deeply grateful to everyone who spent time with us. A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the Radfield stall at Warndon, Pitchcroft, or Droitwich Spa, whether you came to ask about care for a relative, pick up a guide, or simply stop for a warm chat.
We also want to extend our thanks to the organisers, volunteers, and community groups whose hard work makes these gatherings possible.
