Dementia Action Week: Dementia friends awareness session in Aintree

As part of Dementia Action Week, Radfield Home Care Liverpool North & Sefton and Ormskirk was proud to support one of its valued community partnerships alongside the Alzheimer’s Society, Dementia Friends Ambassador Joe Sherville, and Remember Me Dementia Adult Day Centre by hosting a Dementia Friends awareness session in Aintree.

On Tuesday 19th May, a Dementia Friends session was delivered by Joe Sherville, volunteer Dementia Friends Ambassador for the Alzheimer’s Society. The session provided a meaningful and informative presentation aimed at increasing awareness and understanding of the experiences of people living with dementia.

Bringing dementia awareness to the Liverpool North community

The event was attended by the management team and carers from Remember Me Dementia Adult Day Centre, together with representatives from a range of local health and community organisations. The session was warmly received by everyone who attended, with participants proudly becoming Dementia Friends.

Radfield Home Care extended sincere thanks to Joe Sherville for delivering such an engaging and impactful session. Special thanks were also given to Rebecca, owner of Remember Me Dementia Adult Day Centre, and her dedicated team for hosting the event and welcoming families, carers, and members of the public.

Building a dementia-friendly community together

Radfield Home Care Liverpool North & Sefton business owner, Dave Bellis commented:

“Dementia Action Week is an important opportunity to raise awareness, encourage understanding, and support communities in becoming more dementia friendly. We are proud to work alongside fantastic partnerships such as the Alzheimer’s Society and Remember Me Dementia Adult Day Centre to help make a positive difference.”

We  continue to champion community engagement, education, and partnership working to help people remain connected, active, and supported throughout their care journey.
