Radfield Home Care Ormskirk helps raise over £470 for Macmillan Cancer Support

Radfield Home Care Ormskirk recently had the pleasure of joining residents and staff at The Fountains Retirement Living for a community fundraising event in Ormskirk, successfully raising an impressive £478 for Macmillan Cancer Support. The event highlighted the power of local partnerships in creating meaningful connections and supporting vital causes across West Lancashire.

A community coming together for a brilliant cause

The afternoon was a wonderful occasion that brought together residents, staff, and partners for one of the standout community events in Ormskirk this season. Guests were treated to live entertainment, delicious refreshments, and a traditional afternoon tea, creating a warm and lively atmosphere for everyone involved.

Entertainment at community event in Ormskirk

Adding to the community spirit, local Ormskirk business Mr Thompson’s Bakery generously donated a selection of cakes. All funds from this local charity fundraising will go directly to Macmillan Cancer Support, helping the charity continue providing essential support to people living with cancer.

Building connections and supporting our community

As a provider of high quality care in Ormskirk, collaboration is at the heart of our community involvement. This event was a fantastic example of what can be achieved when local organisations work together to improve wellbeing for older people.

Director of Radfield Home Care Ormskirk, Dave Bellis, said: “At Radfield Home Care, we are committed to building strong community links. Working alongside our partners allows us to extend support and companionship to those in retirement living, care homes, and within their own homes across Ormskirk and West Lancashire. This event is a wonderful example of what we can achieve together.”

Karen Berry, House Manager at The Fountains, added: “Thank you to Radfield Home Care Ormskirk for their ongoing support for our residents, who are very grateful. The community engagement is wonderful, and our residents always look forward to the community events and coach trips.”

Being there for what matters most

This event is part of Radfield Home Care’s national “Be There” initiative, which underpins our approach to providing person-centred at home care in Ormskirk. The initiative focuses on being present and active within local communities, supporting not only clients receiving care but also residents in retirement living and care home settings. By “being there,” our teams help people stay connected and feel part of their community; which is central to our purpose of helping the nation age well.

How we can support you and our community

The success of the Macmillan fundraiser shows just how much can be accomplished when a community comes together. We are proud to play our part and look forward to many more events with our local partners.
