Wakefield Radfield Home Care Dementia Friends Champion

Jackie our Registered Manager & Director in our local office has successfully completed her Dementia Friends Champion Training. Jackie can now deliver information sessions as a volunteer for the Alzheimer’s Society to family, friends, staff and the wider Wakefield and Dewsbury community to encourage others to make a positive difference to people living with dementia.

To become a Dementia Friend all you need to do is understand the 5 key messages that everyone should know about Dementia and then commit to take a dementia friendly action.

Dementia Friends 5 Key Messages:

1. Dementia is not a natural part of ageing
2. Dementia is caused by disease of the brain
3. Dementia is not just about losing your memory – it can affect thinking, communicating and doing everyday tasks
4. It’s possible to live well with dementia
5. There’s more to a person than the dementia

Taking Dementia Action to Wakefield
