Care Professionals are changing lives

Every home care visit from our Care Professionals is changing the life of a vulnerable person. Caring for older people in their own home helps them to remain connected to what matters most and brings a sense of purpose to the lives of those around them.

There are plenty of reasons people begin a career in care; to change a life, to give something back to your local community, to get into a routine after the kids have gone back to school, flexible working hours to fit around your lifestyle or simply to pay the bills. Whatever your reason is for providing care, you’re making a positive difference in someone’s life.

Create your ‘Magic Moment’

Due to the nature of the job, Care Professionals are out there changing lives for good with even the smallest acts, everyday. Sometimes, an action or reaction is so compelling that it causes them to stop and take it all in. To us, we call them ‘Magic Moments’. To them, doing things from the kindness of their hearts comes naturally, going above and beyond to help others is another day in the office.

Andy reunited his client with their brother’s long-lost vinyl.

“Normally a very chatty man, Jamie fell silent as the record played. Hearing his brother play guitar for the first time in years had him totally overwhelmed with emotion. If it wasn’t for Andy, he may never have heard his brother play again and there he was, right there in his living room. When he came back down from cloud nine, Jamie just kept saying “thank you” over and over again”

Wayne’s children created loom band models for one of his clients.

“Wayne wanted to cheer her up and bring a little bit of sunshine to her life, knowing she liked animals, he knew just what to do. He handed her one of the toy cats that his daughter had made. Margaret was taken aback.”

Sarah organised for her client to visit her husband at his graveside.

“Sarah got to work helping Linda get dressed; she was excited and wanted to look smart for her big day out. The weather was on their side, it was a beautifully sunny day. The pair enjoyed a short drive through the most idyllic countryside and Linda was in her element, reminiscing and sharing memories along the way.”

Yasmin’s unwavering support got her client walking again.

“Their defining moment came when Yasmin arrived for a regular care visit and Maureen was sitting with her trainers already on, ready and waiting to walk. Yasmin was taken aback; amazed at the progress Maureen had made since she started her care visits. A lady that once struggled with anxiety, now has her trainers on raring to go. What a transformation!”

Jo Treager turned her clients mood around with a simple fish and chips.

“We sat and chatted, cup of tea in hand. It was lovely to see how my clients’ mood was uplifted with my fish & chip care visit! He was so grateful, thanking me regularly and even commenting that they tasted much better than the last fish & chips he’d eaten. What a result!”
