We’re launching our new Dementia Friendship & Support Café in Chester this September!
In partnership with St Peter’s at the Cross, the café will offer a warm and welcoming place for people living with dementia, as well as their carers, families and loved ones, to meet others, enjoy a cuppa, share experiences and access support.
Our first session will take place on Wednesday 16th September from 2pm to 4pm, and the café will then run on the first and third Wednesday of each month.
We know that staying socially connected can be an important part of ageing well. For people living with dementia, and those supporting them, having somewhere local to meet others, chat openly and simply enjoy some company can help them feel more connected to their community.
Our Dementia cafe in Chester will provide a relaxed and informal space where everyone can feel welcome.
There will be opportunities to:
There’s no pressure to take part in every activity. You can simply come along for a chat, enjoy a cuppa and spend the afternoon in whatever way feels comfortable for you.

At Radfield Home Care, we believe helping people to age well is about much more than practical care. It’s about helping people remain connected to the people, places and communities that matter most to them.
Our Be There commitments focus on helping people to Be themselves, Be connected and Be inspired. Our new Dementia Friendship & Support Café is an extension of this approach, giving people living with dementia and their loved ones an opportunity to come together and enjoy time within their local community.
The café will be run by our experienced Radfield Care Professionals, alongside volunteers from St Peter’s at the Cross.
Our Training Coordinator, Nicola Prance, said:
“We want the Dementia Friendship & Support Café to be a place where people feel comfortable, welcomed and listened to. Living with dementia can sometimes feel isolating, both for the person themselves and for those supporting them. Having somewhere local where you can meet people, share experiences and access support can make such a difference. We’re really looking forward to welcoming everyone to St Peter’s and seeing the café grow into a friendly community space.”
The Dementia Friendship & Support Cafe in Chester is open to anyone living with dementia, as well as their carers, family members and loved ones.
The café is free to attend and there is no need to book.
Our first café takes place on Wednesday 16 September. You can find out more about St Peter’s at the Cross on their website.
