There aren’t many jobs where galloping down the Chester Racecourse dressed as half a pantomime horse is part of the weekly routine!
Our team loves getting out into the local neighbourhood. While our Care Professionals are out every day supporting older adults to live independently, we also jump at any chance to support the local charities that mean so much to our community.
That is why we were thrilled to sponsor our very own horse, the Radfield Rascal, in this year’s Chester Pantomime Horse Race in support of the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.

The Chester Pantomime Horse Race was much more than a fun day out for our team; it was another chapter in our long-standing partnership with the Hospice of the Good Shepherd.
For more than five years, we have proudly supported the hospice through fundraising, volunteering and community events because we have seen first-hand the incredible difference its services make to local families facing some of life’s most difficult moments.
Our team has taken part in everything from the Sparkle Walk and sponsored hikes to the Hospice Strictly Come Dancing challenge. We also run our Friday Day Centre out of the Living Well Centre at the hospice, giving local older adults a warm space to enjoy hot meals, social activities, and good company.
Our Director Julie Scott was even presented with a special award celebrating five years of fundraising and volunteering alongside the hospice team, a proud moment for everyone in our office!

Every horse sponsored and every pound raised helps the hospice continue providing specialist palliative care, emotional support and bereavement services to local people and their families. While victory on the track eluded us, we could not have been prouder to support such an important cause.
To make the day even more memorable, we were delighted to receive the Most Creative Social Media award in recognition of the fun and engaging way we shared our race day journey online.
It was a fantastic way to celebrate the enthusiasm of our team and the support we received from our wonderful community.
