The Nantwich Show is always a highlight in the Cheshire calendar, bringing rural families and farming communities together to celebrate countryside life.
This year, our team at Radfield Home Care Tarporley & Mid Cheshire had an extra special reason to celebrate. Alongside catching up with familiar faces, we launched a brand-new community initiative: our Client Wish Tree.
Our brand new Client Wish Tree was a interactive community stall where visitors chose local day-out wishes written by our older care clients, hanging them on a tree to enter a luxury hamper prize draw.
The idea came from our Registered Care Manager Zoe. Wanting to spark meaningful connection between our clients and the wider community, Zoe asked our clients a simple question: “If you could go anywhere local for a special day out or activity, where would it be?”
Our team gathered a list of wishes and brought them along to the showground. We brought these wishes to the Nantwich Show, inviting visitors to choose a wish, hang it on our wish tree, and leave their contact details to enter a special prize draw.

The day after the show, our team collected all the picked wishes to draw one at random. The winning wish drawn from the tree was a nostalgic day trip to New Brighton Beach for a traditional fish and chip lunch by the seaside!
We cannot wait to fulfil this wonderful day out for our client, whose face lit up with pure excitement upon hearing the news. The Nantwich Show attendee who picked the wish from our tree also won a luxury hamper; making it a complete win-win.
Seeing the excitement on our client’s face and connecting local people through such a simple gesture reminds us why community engagement is at the heart of quality home care.

Whether we are fulfilling seaside wishes or helping with daily routines around the house, keeping people connected to their local roots makes a world of difference.
Our team of Care Professionals works tirelessly across Tarporley and surrounding rural areas to empower older adults to live comfortably and independently in their own homes.
From personal care and companionship to live in care, day care, and connected care, we adapt our support around what truly matters to each individual and their family.
Whether you are exploring private care options to help a relative stay independent at home, or you’re a compassionate local person looking to join a team that truly values its staff, we’d love to hear from you.
