Our new Woldingham Adult Day Centre is officially open!

Delicious two-course meals, lively conversation, and a peaceful space to relax, Wednesdays in Woldingham just got a whole lot brighter!

We are thrilled to announce that our new weekly Adult Day Centre at Woldingham Village Hall is officially open, bringing local older adults together for companionship, engaging activities, and practical healthcare support.

The centre was formally opened by Councillor Deb Shiner, Chair of Tandridge District Council, who joined us to celebrate this exciting new community resource, who had this to share during the opening ceremony:

“It’s so important that resources are there to help older people remain active and involved in community life. It’s also vital to have good local services that support unpaid carers and families by providing much-needed respite.”

What to expect every Wednesday at our Adult Day Centre in Woldingham

Running every Wednesday from 10:30am to 3:30pm, the day centre is designed to be a place people genuinely look forward to visiting each week.

Guests can spend the day in whatever way feels most comfortable, surrounded by friendly Care Professionals and great company. A typical Wednesday at the centre includes:

• Freshly prepared lunch: A delicious two-course meal served in a relaxed, social setting.
• Gentle activities & hobbies: Chair yoga, quizzes, crafts, games, and social chats.
• Guest talks & local history: Interactive sessions covering gardening, local heritage, and tips for staying safe and independent at home.
• On-site healthcare on rotation: Access to visiting specialists like chiropodists and physiotherapists, saving guests and families extra travel for routine appointments.

Providing a welcoming hub and vital respite for family carers

Beyond creating a vibrant day out for attendees, the day centre offers essential support for family members who care for an older relative. Having a reliable, high-quality day service gives unpaid carers peace of mind and time to recharge, knowing their loved one is safe, socialising, and well looked after.

Giving back: Raising over £1,200 for local causes

To mark the launch, our team organised a community fundraising raffle supported by generous local businesses across Tandridge. Together, we raised £1,289, with all proceeds split between two wonderful local causes: Friends of Caterham Dene Hospital and the Rotary Club of Oxted & Limpsfield.

Building strong relationships with local charities, healthcare groups, and residents is at the heart of our mission, and we are deeply grateful for the warm welcome we have received across the area.
