Join Us for Our ‘Ageing Well Together’ Community Event in Ashtead

Finding the right support for yourself or an older family member shouldn’t mean endless internet searches or dozens of phone calls.

That’s why we’re bringing best local groups, charities, and friendly experts together under one roof for a completely free, informal morning out on Tuesday 29th September, from 10:00am to 12:30pm at St George’s Church in Ashtead.

Whether you’re looking to plan ahead for the future, curious about local social groups, or seeking guidance on care and wellbeing support, this morning is designed entirely around you and your family.

• Short Talks: Drop in on brief, practical presentations throughout the morning covering helpful advice on staying active, wellbeing, and planning ahead.
• Friendly Advice: Ask questions you’ve been meaning to ask and discover local services you might not know existed.

Invitations have been sent out to a fantastic range of local organisations, charities, and healthcare partners across Surrey.

As stallholders and talk speakers confirm their attendance over the coming weeks, we will update this exact page with the full line-up and timetable of short talks for our Ageing Well Together Event in Ashtead soon!

• Ian Smith, Chair of the NHS Surrey and Sussex Integrated Care Board (ICB). Ian will be talking about the future of Adult health and care services and the changes taking place across the NHS to make services work better for local communities.
• Dementia UK – dementia support and advice
• Age UK Surrey – information, advice and support for older people
• Surrey Fire and Rescue – staying safe at home and safe and well checks
• Meers legal services – wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney
• Birchgrove – independent retirement living
• Hartfield House – care home later-life living and support
• Mole Valley Life – technology, transport, community activities and local support
• Absolute Mobility – home adaptations and accessibility
• Elder Care Consulting – later-life advice and guidance
• Radfield Home Care Epsom & Leatherhead – support to live well and independently at home
• Dan Stoneman from Surrey County Council, Head of Older People’s Commissioning and Connected Care. Dan will be talking about the future of services for older people in Surrey, including the changes coming with the new East and West Surrey councils and how technology could play a bigger role in helping people stay independent at home.
• Turner’s Oak – advice and support for older homeowners, including downsizing
• Grey Matters – information and guidance around Attendance Allowance
• Carers Practice Advisor with Adult Social Care – supporting unpaid carers by undertaking providing information and advice, helping carers access support services, and working with partner organisations to promote carers’ wellbeing and ensure their voices are heard.
• Surrey Police & the Safer Neighbourhood Team – providing advice and support on staying safe in the community, including scam and fraud awareness, doorstep crime prevention, and helping local residents know where to turn for support.
