Later life festival brings Bedford and Ampthill community together

Navigating the various stages of later life can often feel like a complex puzzle for families. Adult children balancing their own lives while researching care options for ageing parents frequently find themselves searching for reliable guidance. To support local families, Radfield Home Care Bedford & Ampthill is hosting a Later Life Festival; a free, comprehensive community event designed to bring essential resources and support services together.

The festival takes place at the Addison Centre in Kempston, running from 11am to 2pm. The venue offers free parking on-site, ensuring easy access for all attendees seeking to explore the wealth of information available.

Bringing useful organisations together

The core purpose of the Later Life Festival is to provide a single, supportive environment where the local community can discover valuable lifestyle and care resources. Approximately 25 different organisations will be showcasing their services, each hosting an information stand staffed by knowledgeable professionals.

This gathering of experts ensures that attendees can ask questions, gather literature, and gain insights into the diverse support network available across the region. Rather than spending weeks researching isolated services, families can connect with multiple organisations face-to-face in one afternoon.

Supporting local dementia care

Among the featured organisations is Tibbs Dementia Foundation, a local charity dedicated to providing comfort, support, and activities for people living with dementia and their families. Their presence highlights the festival’s commitment to addressing complex care needs within the community.

In addition to sharing information about their vital services, Tibbs Dementia Foundation will be managing the event refreshments. All proceeds from the refreshment sales will go directly to fundraising efforts for the foundation, allowing attendees to support a crucial local cause while enjoying the festival.

Empowering families to age well

At Radfield Home Care Bedford & Ampthill, the mission is to make ageing a more rewarding experience for everyone involved. By establishing events like the Later Life Festival, the goal is to help older people remain connected to the things that matter most to them.

A spokesperson from Radfield Home Care had this to say about the event:

“We want to ensure that families across Bedford, Ampthill, and Kempston feel fully supported. Bringing these organisations together under one roof simplifies the research process for families, offering peace of mind and practical solutions before a care crisis occurs.”

Whether you are an adult child looking to understand future choices for a parent, an older person exploring local social groups, or someone seeking specialised dementia support, this event provides an open, welcoming space to gather facts and plan ahead.
