Coffee, Cakes & Community

Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury held a successful coffee morning on Thursday 13th July that everyone enjoyed at the newly opened Lock Court in Shrewsbury.

Lock Court is a stunning new development in Copthorne Road made up of one and two bedroom ‘Retirement Living’ apartments for the over 60s in a lovely part of Shrewsbury, where we already look after a number of clients in their own homes.

Tea, coffee, and yummy cakes were made available during the morning, provided by Radfield Home Care and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. The cakes especially went down well, with everyone taking a piece or two away with them for their supper later that day. Lots of reminiscing with old and new stories were shared between everyone, with many questions asked about Radfield. Everyone enjoyed learning a little bit more about the Radfield Home Care story and the services and support Radfield provides in the local community.

Chrissy from our Shrewsbury branch commented,

“Our lovely carer Becky called in during the morning to meet everyone in between her care calls, so the homeowners at Lock Court had an opportunity to meet members of our team and learn first-hand the activities our carers carry out on a daily basis, with each day being different to the next.”

Chrissy also explained,

“It was great to be able to explain a little bit more about our services that perhaps people weren’t aware we offered, such as taking our clients to their appointments, shopping, and companionship. Many of the residents who joined us didn’t realise that these services were available; they presumed that home care provided the more personal side of care.

We were delighted to be able to hold a coffee morning at Lock Court, and I would like to thank everyone who joined us and also to the off site manageress for her help.”

The Radfield Home Care branches love to be part of community activities and events such as these with older residents. It provides a wonderful opportunity for everyone to get together and create some great awareness around the services we offer.
