World’s Biggest Coffee Morning in Radbrook Community Centre

RAISING DONATIONS FOR MACMILLAN

On Wednesday 27th September, Radfield Home Care Shrewsbury hosted a Coffee Morning at Radbrook Community Centre in Shrewsbury, in support of ‘The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning’ annual event.

Chrissy, Business Development Manager for the branch commented,

“The event was a great success and it was wonderful to see so many of our clients come along. We not only raised a total of £170.00 for an excellent cause, but it brought, staff, clients, family and the community together. There was a variety of delicious cakes on offer, all donated and baked by our colleagues in our branch, family and local businesses. Our raffle of two Marks & Spencer Hampers worth £60 each proved popular with all who attended and helped towards our total amount raised.”

The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer, raising £29.5 million last year alone. The first Coffee Morning happened in Wycombe, Beaconsfield & South Bucks and has continued ever since; raising £165.5 million so far in total.

Natalie Trafene, Care Manager explained,

“The Coffee Morning was great and it was lovely to see so many local people attend and offer their support. Also a very big thank you to everyone for their help in organising the event. It’s also always lovely to receive feedback from our clients and one of our charming clients from Shrewsbury added, “Thank you very much for inviting me, I had a lovely time at the Coffee Morning.” It’s great to see our clients meeting others and enjoying themselves in community events such as these.”

Radfield would just like to say a very big thank you to everyone for supporting our Macmillan Coffee Morning and we look forward to seeing you all again at next year’s event.
