Our Care Professionals bring compassion, dignity, kindness and companionship into the lives of the people we support. Their dedication often goes above and beyond, helping individuals remain connected to their communities, maintain their independence, and continue living life on their own terms.
Carers Week gave us the opportunity to shine a light on the remarkable work our team does throughout the year. We saw the early starts, the late finishes, the extra miles travelled, the reassuring conversations, and the countless acts of kindness that often happen behind the scenes.
To every member of our care team – thank you. Your commitment, professionalism and genuine care make an extraordinary difference to the lives of our clients and their families. You are the heart of Radfield Home Care, and we are incredibly proud of everything you do.
It was lovely catching up with carers throughout the week, sharing plenty of smiles, and taking the opportunity to show just how much they mean to us. As a small token of our appreciation, each carer received a goodie bag filled with relaxing treats and thoughtful items to encourage some well-deserved time for themselves. Field Care Supervisor Karen couldn’t wait to get hers open and start enjoying the items!

At Radfield Day Centre, we took time to remember and honour those who fought for our freedom on D-Day. We marked the occasion with a variety of themed activities, including WWII bingo, creating our own transport papers, and working together to complete a D-Day word search.
We also enjoyed some of our favourite games, which certainly brought out the competitive spirit in a few of us! The day was filled with laughter, shared memories, and wonderful conversations. We finished with a relaxing yoga session, a lively game of balloon tennis, and a nostalgic sing-along to well-loved songs.

We spent time reflecting on the caring people in our lives and showing our appreciation for everything they do. Together, we created beautiful hanging paper vases as a symbol of gratitude and recognition for those who care for us every day.
Our day was filled with fun and laughter as we enjoyed a quiz, baked some delicious raisin shortbread, relaxed with a yoga session, and finished with a wonderful sing-along.

Our day was filled with laughter and connection by spending quality time getting to really know one another by answering funny questions about ourselves, playing bingo, tackling two quizzes, playing games together, having friendly balloon tennis, and finishing with a short chair fitness session!
We also spent time talking about advice we have given throughout the years, sharing tips for the younger generation:
“Enjoy every bit of it”
“Behave yourself!”
“Today was one of those lovely days that stays with you. We laughed, played games, shared stories, and got to know each other a little better. It reminded me that happiness really does come from simple moments and good company.”

We celebrated Seaside Day with a range of fun and engaging activities. We enjoyed a traditional fish and chips lunch, bringing the taste of the seaside to our day. We explored sensory sand, searching for hidden seaside objects such as shells and sea creatures.
We dipped our toes in the paddling pool, enjoying the cool water and relaxing seaside atmosphere, while chatting about favourite seaside memories, holidays, and beach activities.
Our Recruitment & Training Manager, Amanda, and her daughter Chloe took on the Cancer Research UK Pretty Muddy 5K at Markeaton Park. Together, they climbed, crawled, slid, and laughed their way around the course, all in support of a charity that is very close to their hearts.
Thanks to the incredible generosity of family, friends, colleagues, and supporters, they raised an amazing £450 for Cancer Research UK!
Looking at some of the obstacles and muddy slides, it’s probably a good job Amanda is our Basic Life Support trainer, although thankfully no emergency CPR skills were required on the day! A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported them.

Anne applied for a Care Professional role with us in September 2025, looking for a complete career change. She had previously worked as a Nursery Nurse and Pre-School Practitioner, but had no experience in adult social care and had been out of employment since July 2024.
When first speaking with Anne, she was nervous and lacked confidence, but showed clear kindness, patience, and a strong desire to help others. Following her pre-employment checks, Anne completed our induction in November 2025 and 16 hours of shadowing with experienced Care Professionals.
Throughout her 12-week induction, she completed all training to a high standard, passed her probation, achieved her Care Certificate, and has since been recognized as Employee of the Month. Anne now supports new starters during their shadowing, offering reassurance and guidance.
“I find the job very rewarding and enjoy making a difference to clients. I’ve grown in confidence and continue to learn something new every day.”

Emma has settled extremely well into her role and made a noticeable positive impact on the day centre. Since joining, the centre has been running much more smoothly and effectively. She consistently brings fresh ideas and a high level of enthusiasm, boosting team morale and contributing to a better overall experience for service users. Her commitment, energy, and willingness to go above and beyond make her very deserving of this recognition.

We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Sadaf and her husband welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Yusuf, on 22nd June, weighing 7lb! Both mum and baby are doing well. Everyone at Radfield Home Care sends their warmest congratulations to Sadaf and her family.
