Remembering and Supporting Our Community in Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern This November

Remembering and Supporting Our Community in Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern This November

As we look back over November, we have been reflecting on the people, stories and experiences that shape our work as a trusted provider of home care across Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern. This month has offered moments of remembrance, learning, celebration and community connection, all of which remind us why supporting people to age well remains at the heart of everything we do.

Taking Time to Remember Together

This Remembrance Sunday, our team paused to reflect on those who served and sacrificed for the freedoms we experience today. Many of the people we support continue to share vivid memories of wartime years, often speaking of resilience, unity and hope. It is a privilege to listen to these stories and to keep them alive through the companionship and personalised home care we provide each day.

Their legacy continues to shape our communities, influencing the compassion and togetherness that guide our approach as a national home care provider. Today and always, we hold their memories close.

Insights from the International Men’s Day Event

This month, I attended the Men, Muscle and Mental Health event at The Hive in Worcester, hosted by the University of Worcester in partnership with First Steps ED. The evening explored how body image, masculinity and mental health influence men’s experiences throughout their lives, including later life where these topics are often overlooked.

The speakers raised powerful points about the importance of giving men space to talk openly about how they feel, something that resonated strongly with me in the context of the people we support. I came away with meaningful reflections on how ageing can influence wellbeing and why open, compassionate conversations matter now more than ever.

As a team, we felt these insights were too important to keep to ourselves. They are closely connected to the support we provide across Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern, where emotional wellbeing is just as important as practical help. We have shared a full article on our website for anyone who would like to learn more.

We also took this opportunity to recognise the men in our lives: fathers, grandfathers, friends, colleagues and clients who enrich our work and inspire us every day.

Celebrating Our Team: Six Years of Sarah and a Birthday for Alex

This month, we celebrated a significant milestone for our Care Manager, Sarah, who has been an integral part of Radfield Home Care Worcester, Droitwich & Malvern for six years. Her leadership, steady presence and unwavering support for our Care Professionals and families have strengthened our service in countless ways. We are incredibly grateful for her dedication and optimism.

We were also delighted to celebrate the birthday of Alex, one of our Care Professionals known for his thoughtful approach and commitment to building warm, meaningful relationships with the people he supports. His work makes a genuine difference to our team and to those receiving home care across the Worcester, Droitwich and Malvern areas.

Wishing Alex a Happy Birthday

November Wellbeing Tip: Seek Out Daylight

With darker days setting in, many people notice changes in mood or energy levels. A simple yet effective way to support wellbeing is to spend time in natural daylight each day. Light exposure helps maintain a healthy body rhythm, lifts mood and supports better sleep. Even a short walk or sitting by a bright window can bring noticeable benefits during the month of November.

Looking Ahead: Worcester Christmas Tree Festival

We are excited to take part once again in the Worcester Christmas Tree Festival this December. Our team has prepared a beautifully decorated tree that reflects our values of care, community and connection. We look forward to sharing more in our December newsletter.
