A Radfield Christmas – sharing Christmas gift hampers and festive joy!

In December Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury pulled out the stops to ensure their clients, care professionals and local community all received some much needed Christmas cheer. Giving festive gifts to others is a real joy, read on to find out what Radfield has been up to.

After another year of true dedication to providing their clients with the best care possible, Radfield Home Care Wakefield and Dewsbury’s director Jackie Gillen, wanted to make sure her team of home care professionals were recognised and rewarded. As we know, choosing the right present is often a challenge, however Jackie had already taken the initiative to ask the team what they wanted and to give something that was truly needed. Jackie explains:

“We really wanted to do something nice to reward the staff for all their hard work, to give something personal rather than just a voucher. We’d recently completed a staff survey on reward and recognition in general and so we had good information from the team to go on. Things have been restricted during Covid and we’d normally always look to take our care professionals out for Christmas, birthday and to award them when they go the extra mile. The feedback was that they wanted us to stick with this personal approach.

With this in mind we put together Christmas hampers that had a combination of practical items but also items they could pamper themselves with. The hampers included lovely goodies such as candles, Christmas crackers, chocolate and a ‘winter pack’ we know will be really useful – this included a handy little torch!

One of the most important things though is the gift also includes compliments they have received from several of their team members, it’s so important they receive personal recognition for their hard work.”

Being able to visit and provide exceptional home care for Radfield’s valued clients throughout Christmas is so enjoyed by all at Radfield, and like most of us, it’s also an opportunity to partake in a few winter treats! Always ready to think of something new and fun for their clients Jackie and team put together a fantastic Christmas keep warm present, which just happened to taste delicious too. The mugs contained chocolate and marshmallows, all presented in a lovely bow. Just the thing to bring smiles to everyone’s faces.

Christmas cheer was also extended to the local community with Radfield continuing its support of The Resource Food Bank, at Christ Church South Ossett, who were creating and distributing wonderful Christmas food parcels. A food drop off box was set up in the Radfield office in early December to collect food donations and the team were very keen to donate. The food was then delivered to the food bank on 23rd December and it was gratefully received:

“Thank you to everyone at Radfield Home Care in Wakefield and Dewsbury for these brilliant donations brought in by Hayley. Thank you for all the amazing work that you do in the care sector. We salute you guys. XOXO”
